Job Description

We have an on-going requirement for contract Exploratory Software Testers to work in our office in the City and on-site at our clients' premises, usually inside the M25.

About You

You're inquisitive, always questioning how and why things happen, challenging the prevailing orthodoxy and looking for a better way to do things. You are likely to have at least 5 years' relevant experience in software testing, with at least 3 years' testing websites, web-based applications and mobile applications.

You will be familiar with the key people in the exploratory testing community and will be well-read on the subject. Ideally you will have been on one or more of the better training courses and will be active in the online and offline community.

Required Skills

Numeracy and good written and spoken English are essential, as are proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (VBA and macro writing is useful). Most of our testers have at least a first degree but it's not essential.

You will have developed or learned a coherent approach to context-driven and exploratory testing that you can explain clearly. The interview process includes a practical test in which you will be expected to demonstrate a high level of expertise.

Proficiency in front-end web technologies such as HTML and CSS are essential, while JavaScript is a definite benefit. You should be able to demonstrate the use of testing tools such as browser developer tools, HTML proxies, website spidering tools and API test tools.

Test automation experience is a benefit but is not mandatory for this role. We prefer candidates not to have ISTQB certification.
